A character that was labeled as a black clad Hatsune Miku, Black Rock Shooter became her own entity on September 20, 2009. Crypton, the company that created Miku, announced that Black Rock Shooter has no relation with the Vocaloid character.

Black Rock Shooter is 15-years-old and is well known for her massive projectile weapons. The Black Canon can shoot up to 20 rocks per second, but she is also seen with a sword known as the Black Blade.

I think that’s a rather unique interpretation of the blue flame erupting from her eye. As the contributor Fernandez said, “this cosplay’s sizzling hot”!

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Aang 02

Aang is a vegetarian. He refuses to eat meat because the Air Nomads taught him that all life is sacred, the same teachings in Buddhism and Taoism. He uses airbending techniques which are based on an “internal” Chinese martial art known as Baguazhang. His style focuses on circular movements and does not have many finishing moves, representing the unpredictability of air and peaceful nature of the Air Nomads.

This Aang is so cute! I wonder if he really shaved his head? And what did he use to paint the arrow on his head? Thanks to Leon for sending this in!

KFEST Cosplay Competition - KPOP Music & Culture

This coming 8th of August 2010, at the SM Megamall - Megatrade Hall 1, will be held the first Korean Music, Fashion and Culture - KFest 2010.

Alodia Gosiengfiao as creative as ever in her Cosplay Profession

At the recent Comic-Con 2010 Cosplay in SDCC, San Diego Comic Convention, Alodia Gosiengfiao as Amaha Masane from the anime WitchBlade won the "Hall Costume Award". She said that it was fun to be part of the winners of Costume Designers Guild.

Amaha Masane, Alodia's character was a primary protagonist of WitchBlade. From the story, She's a jobless single mother as well as the bearer of the Witchblade. Big breasts and tomboyish are the main characteristics of Amaha. She has a very deep love to her daughter.

Very much like Amaha, Alodia is a sweet cosplay queen of the Philippines. She's proud of being a Filipina Cosplayer and love all Filipinos.

Let's temporarily check the cosplay of creatures! No not like the Dark Nurse from the previous post but the cute ones. Pikachu was one of the cutest creature made in all collection of manga, anime, books, games and even trading cards. Satoshi Tajiri created Pokemon and the one that is guilty of this pocket monster phenomenon.

Being the most renowned Pokemon all over the world, Pikachu is officialy the face of the Pokemon franchise. It even became an icon of Japanese culture. Pikachu is a living battery hehe... It can store electricity and can produce lightning-based attacks

Cosplaying a huggable character is really fun especially when hot girls see you hehe... Gotta catch them all!

Soul Eater: Maka Albarn

Meister of the scythe Soul Eater, Maka Albarn is a dedicated student and a protégé like her mother. She does not have a good relationship with her father, Spirit, because of his constant flirtations with women which led to her parents’ divorce. Maka is therefore obsessed with turning Soul Eater into a Death Scythe that will surpass Spirit.

Although she has a good working relationship with Soul, Maka has a tendency to nag or even shout at him when he does something foolish.

Ivy Valentine - Soul Calibur Game

Isabella Valentine (Ivy), is one of the hottest fictional character in the game "Soul Calibur". Namco first made her appear in the original Soulcalibur. Voiced by Yumi Toma, Kanako Tojo, Renee Hewitt and Lani Minella, this character was really a good eye-catch for guy fans out there.

From the game, she was a part of a noble family and a father (Cervantes) who's obsessed with the cursed sword (Soul Edge) which is the reason to her father's death and later her mother's, Ivy desires to destroy the sword.

Ivy's weapon is a segmented, animated blade which extends whenever she attack. She is considered both an attractive and strong female character. IGN even called her one of the most beautiful female characters in video games. Indeed, one must very hot to cosplay Isabella Valentine.

Lo Kawaii: Amor por lo lindo!

Los japoneses siempre llevan sus iconos culturales un paso más allá de lo que creemos posible.  Veamos por ejemplo la imagen de un avión comercial de All Nippon Airways, decorado con personajes de la serie Pokemon.  Una imagen poco común en occidente, que refleja las prácticas de la cultura "Kawaii", palabra japonesa que equivale a "bonito", "lindo", "tierno" o "adorable" y que se utiliza para designar la preferencia por motivos tiernos, dulces, infantiles, en toda suerte de medios, incluyendo edificios oficiales y publicaciones del gobierno.  En el mundo occidental se le llama también "cultura cute", por la palabra inglesa que también se traduce como "bonito" o "encantador".

Así es, desde los años 70 la obsesión japonesa por lo lindo, indefenso e inocente emergió inicialmente en la escritura: los lápices mecánicos se pusieron de moda y las adolescentes comenzaron a escribir horizontalmente -la escritura japonesa es vertical-, insertando dibujos entre los caracteres y estilizándolos de tal manera que resultaban muy difíciles de leer.  El estilo se popularizó hasta el punto de que tuvo que ser prohibido en las escuelas.  De la misma forma, usar la expresión "¡kawaii!", para mostrar aprobación o entusiasmo por cosas de la más diversa índole -desde un animalito hasta el traje del jefe, pasando por automóviles y artículos para el hogar-, se volvió tan frecuente y repetitivo entre las mujeres jóvenes, que algún instituto intentó prohibir el uso de la palabra en sus instalaciones.  Hoy en día es parte del vocabulario usual de los japoneses, que consideran que la palabra proporciona un sentimiento de empatía y afinidad, con un efecto casi mágico.

Un interesante análisis sociológico concluye que al ser Japón un país muy desarrollado y en constante crecimiento económico, ha permitido a sus ciudadanos tomarse menos en serio la madurez y la seriedad necesarias para el trabajo, y asumir actitudes más juguetonas e infantiles que, naturalmente, se revierten en importantes tendencias de consumo que la industria alimenta y satisface, enfocándose sobre todo en el público juvenil femenino.  Hoy en día, lo Kawaii se considera parte integrante de la cultura e idiosincrasia japonesa y es prácticamente imposible no encontrarlo en los objetos comunes que rodean a los nipones todos los días.
